Happy Weekend guys… :D
Need an idea for this weekend? i found this interesting article about a home in Amsterdam. Formerly it was a factory and transformed into beautiful home space.
I really love the idea of construction material combined with warmness of the wood and the contemporary plain white wall. Somehow this details creates different effects on the mood of the space. This balancing between heavy and light.
A big interior four level circulation space, wood color touch, exposed construction materials are bounded together and create a homy yet cool space.

When iMac and iPad works together in doing AutoCAD
i just found that this is super cool and time saving rather than flipping to other file to look as reference… i’m using an iPad to open AutoCAD file (read- AutoCAD WS)and use that as the reference while doing some drawings on the computer…
When you hear “interior designer” and “interior decorator,” what comes to mind? The thought that they are the same? Believe it or not, there is quite a difference between the two.
The American Society of Interior Designers defines an interior designer as a professional who identifies, researches and creatively solves problems to interpret the function and quality of the interior environment. A designer is responsible for performing services relative to interior spaces, including programming, design analysis, space planning and aesthetics, using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building codes, equipment, materials and furnishings. Designers are formally trained to prepare drawings and documents relative to the design of interior spaces in order to enhance and protect the health, safety and welfare of the public*.
Interior decorators mainly focus on the aesthetics of a room or space. They are responsible for selecting the elements that are needed for the transformation process. These elements include furniture, lighting and other materials. They are also responsible for arranging the space. You don’t need an Interior Design degree to work in this field. In fact, most interior decorators hold degrees in related areas such as fine arts or drafting, or have taken informal courses.

Seeing these images reminded me to 3 months ago.

One of my friend from Fashion Management department, asked me to help her in doing the final project. She chose food and beverages store development, which in this case a dessert cafe called “Sweetest Little Things”. She organised and did a development progress in setting-up a new business, from scratches to final proposal. I did’t know much about little tinggy stuffs on details, but i know that the cafe she wanted was providing both european and asian feeling.

Pictures above showing facade and foyer design of the cafe. As per her idea, i brain-stormed and implement the ideas into one design concept. Basically, we know that western and asian both has totally different style, decorations, furnitures and details are totally mismatched one another. This was the challenge on the design development. Well, i did combining both style in one element, Warm ambience, It was the focal point to me in designing the space.

From couple pictures above you definitely able to identify which is asian style and European style.
